Comprehensive first aid and CPR training course for those who have already received their Standard First Aid  training within the last three years.  This course includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines, and meets federal and a variety of provincial / territorial regulations for Standard First Aid and CPR. 

Due to COVID - 19 , all courses will be provided via blended learning delivery.  Blended learning is a combination of in-class instruction combined with a self paced online component that is completed prior to attending the classroom portion. The in-class component concentrates on skills while the online portion focuses on the theory. 

This  course is provided through a 4-hour online component and 4-hour in-class skills component, hence reducing the amount of time needed to be in the classroom.  The date and time selected at the time of the registration is for the in-class component.  

Upon successful completion of the training you will receive a Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid/CPR level C / AED certificate which is valid for three years.

Basic Life Support ( Health Care Provider) - $105.00 ( includes GST)

Designed to build participant confidence in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills and provide the important steps to perform a rapid assessment, perform Basic Life Support (BLS) skills, and perform rapid defibrillation. This course is designed for in-facility care providers, including nursing staff, care aides, medical and dental professionals. Pre-hospital care providers, which may include professionals in fire service, rescue team, sports-medicine, lifeguards and ski patrol.

Completion:

Successfully demonstrate all course skill competencies

Minimum 75% mark for written, closed book, knowledge evaluation

Attend and participate in 100% of the course

Upon completion of the training, you will receive a Canadian Red Cross 1-year certification in Basic Life Support (digital certificate issued upon successful completion)

Baby Sitting Course: $63.00 ( includes GST)

The Babysitting course, refreshed and revised, now has a greater emphasis on First Aid skills. This 8 hour Canadian Red Cross Babysitting course covers everything from managing difficult behaviors to essential content on leadership and professional conduct as a babysitter. Babysitting promises to deepen and enhance the responsibility that older youth feel when caring for younger children. This updated curriculum, complete with new science, also provides improved learning when it comes to giving the appropriate care in the event of an emergency.

First Responder

First aid and CPR skills for professional first responders or those wanting to become first responders. This 40 hour course teaches techniques for sustaining life, preventing further injuries, and caring for illnesses and injuries until the next level of medical personnel arrives. Includes CPR level HCP and AED.

Prerequisite: CPR C

Completion Requirements: 100% attendance, skills demonstration, and 80% min. passing grade on written exam 

Emergency Medical Responder - EMR

This 80 hour course provides the knowledge and skills necessary in an emergency to help sustain life, reduce pain, and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness for those functioning as a member of the health care team in a pre-hospital setting.

Course is for those providing a professional level of emergency response including firefighters, law-enforcement officers, and emergency medical services personnel. Includes CPR level HCP and AED. Meets the Paramedic Association of Canada National Occupational Competency Profiles for the practitioner level of emergency medical responder (EMR).

Prerequisites: Standard First Aid with CPR Level C

Completion requirements: 100% attendance, skills demonstration, two evaluated scenarios, and 80% min. passing grade on written exam

Certification   

3-year certification in Emergency Medical Responder, CPR Level HCP, and AED
